DMITRY BAEVSKY

Dmitry Baevsky

Having achieved wide national acclaim in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the age of fifteen, Dmitry Baevsky soon made the difficult, but rewarding choice to make New York City his musical home. His tasteful, swinging and virtuosic playing has commanded the respect of the most established musicians in New York. Over the last several years, Baevsky has performed and/or recorded with such musicians as Cedar Walton, Jimmy Cobb, Barry Harris, John Webber, Dennis Irwin, Joe Cohn, Peter Bernstein, Harry Allen, Peter Washington, Joe Magnarelli, Jeremy Pelt, Ryan Kisor and many others.

His first album, "Introducing Dmitry Baevsky" (Lineage Records), featured such masters as Cedar Walton, Jimmy Cobb and John Webber. It was followed by "Some Other Spring" (Rideau Rouge/Harmonia Mundi) in 2009 and "Down With It" (Sharp Nine Records) in 2010. In early 2012 Dmitry released his second album on Sharp Nine Records, "The Composers". It features David Hazeltine (piano), John Webber (bass), Jason Brown (drums) and Peter Bernstein (guitar).
